Hello:

I have a problem with the confirmation e-mail: I get the "Could not instantiate mail function" message, both in the test option and in the real subscription process.

I followed all you recommendations in the previous forum thread with the same problem but nothing happens. What should I do?

I have Acymailing Business version.

Thanks for your help

Hello,

1/ Please turn off the "add names" option in the AcyMailing configuration page.
2/ Remove the e-mail you specified in the bounce address field (if you had one)

Then test again and let us know if you can send e-mails...

If you still can not send e-mails, please make sure you can send e-mails using your Joomla installation (password, new account notification...), AcyMailing and Joomla both use the same sending process so there is no reason to don't make it work in AcyMailing if it works properly within Joomla.
Please have a look at our official documentation before posting a new message!

If you use AcyMailing, please post a rating and a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello:

Thanks for the quick answer. I've turned off the add names options and don't have any bouce address.

I cannot send e-mails with Acymailing but I can with Joomla (created a new user and send the confirmation e-mail without problems).

What can I do?

Thanks

Hello again,

I've sent a test successfully from the configuration panel (send a test button), but I cannot send the confirmation e-mail to new susbscribers. Where can it be the problem?

Thanks again

Hi,

The main difference between those emails is that the confirmation/newsletter emails are sent in HTML where the test email is sent in text. Does it work if you change the "Send Multiple Part" option in the AcyMailing configuration page ?

Robert

It seems that you can send Plain text messages but not HTML one...
I don't know about such a server limitation so I don't think it's your server but you may ask this question to your hosting company too.

So when you send an html message you have the error "could not instantiate..." and when you send a plain text message, everything works properly, am I right? (even if you send a text version of your Newsletter via the preview screen?)

Hi John,
Finally I could fix it!!! Simply I had to change the sending option from PHP to Sendmail and it seems to work properly.
Thanks a lot for your help. Now I'm gonna try to send a Smart-Newsletter to verify that everything works fine :-)

Thank you very much!
