More precisely, it defines the access rights to those of the newsletter's creator.
Very cool, but I can't make it work
I've set the 'ignore ACL', and I've added the ACL level (Member, which is a level above registered) needed to my Super User account in backend (which is listed as creator for the newsletter), but I still don't get anything shown in the Smart-Newsletter.

I just redownloaded the kunena plugin, now the acl option is gone?
Did you pull that version, or what is going on?
Best regards

Hello Fribse,

That option was actually not working, it was displaying posts that the current user was able to view which means it was working fine via the back-end because you were logged in as an admin but if you handled the send process via the front-end (with out automatic send process for example), then the posts was not displayed...
We could not keep that issue so the option has been removed.

Ok, that explains it, and I'll stop scratching my head (all the hair is gone by now :-D).
I'll remove the kunena integration until some sort of solution is developed, as my forum has almost explusively access requirements higher than registered.
Best regards
Fribse

Very helpful thread. I've run into an issue using this plugin, curious if anyone can help.

All seems to work fine (using Smart-Newsletters) if there are actually new posts/replies, however, I can't get the newsletter to not send if there is new content.

I'm doing a straightforward notification announcing recent activity. However, if there is no recent activity, the notification sends and the content is just blank.

Anything will help. I desperately want to automate this process.

Hello,

This plugin does not have a parameter to set the minimum number of forum posts before generating the Newsletter.
This feature was not planned but I don't think it's gonna be complicated to add.
I just added it to our todo list.

Thanks Adrien,

Look forward to this fix. My plugin does allow me to set minimum articles, but I'm guessing it's because I can't properly filter by date created, that it will send it blank still.

Seems strange though, that anyone would want to use an auto-notification that will still send even if there's no new content... ;)

 Obviously...
But in fact that plugin is used on top of other plugins, not as the unique plugin of the page.
So for example in a Smart-Newsletter sent every week, you could add the latest 10 posts.
But anyway, we gonna at least add the fact you can block the Smart-Newsletter generation if there is no post to replace the tag.

Hello,

We added a min option for Smart-Newsletters.
You can download the updated version of Kunena plugin here.
