Without extensive additional testing, it seems to be working.

The limit of 5 is respected and only topics, not replies, are shown.

I have not tested the additional functions in this plugin yet and can not say if they are all working. I will check later on. So far, lookign good. Thanks Leiko!

Hi Leiko

I just stumbled on this plugin, wondering why I couldn't find such a thing on the downloads page. Great work, thanks!

It looks very nice indeed. I do see some problems though.
The Avatar's are not rescaled, so they are impossible to use.
Quite a few strings are not translated in the plugin.
Best regards

Hello fribse,

I added translations to the Profile Information tab, and updated the link above.
Could you describe precisely the problem with avatars or post a screenshot of it ?

I've attached an example with avatar's from a newsletter below...

The tag settings still shows untranslated strings everywhere.

I tested the plugin on Acymailing 3.0.0 + Kunena 1.7.1
Do you use older versions ?

Edit: New update. You can now limit icon size.

Kunena 3.0.0 (redownloaded it in the weekend just to make sure), Kunena 1.7.1.
Language in frontend is danish, backend is english.

I retested the newsletter, and the icon resize works perfectly, as you can see in the attached image.
As you can also see, the CSS is all screwy. The titles has both underline and have the css style from H2, and not 'Content Title'.

The plugin use both frontend and backend language files from Kunena.
As your backend is in english, it tries to load the english version of the frontend language files.
Are this files available ?

Regarding the style of the newsletter, you can use the following code:
.acykunena h2 {
    /* title tag style */
}

.acykunena h2 .subject {
    /* title link style */
}

The other classes available are
.icon
,
.wrapper
,
.authorname
,
.createddate
and
.content

Hi Leiko

I haven't removed the english language from Joomla, and looking in the language files, I can see
English files:
en-GB.com_kunena.ini
en-GB.com_kunena.tpl_default.ini
en-GB.com_kunena.tpl_example.ini
Danish files:
da-DK.com_kunena.ini
da-DK.com_kunena.tpl_default.ini
da-DK.com_kunena.tpl_example.ini

I tried adding the css codes to the Stylesheet tab for the newsletter, and then send a test, but that didn't change the css for the newsletter.

If you create a template with the following css rules

And then create a newsletter based on this template, then you should obtain something like this

Regarding the language issues, can you temporarily set the frontend in English and check everything works fine ?
If you are unable to see the problem, please send me your language files.

Ahh, sorry I misread the post. I though the stylesheet needed to be empty, ie. just inserting the text you originally wrote.
I put in this:
.acykunena h2 {
     color:#1240AB;font-weight:normal;font-size:14px;margin:0;border-bottom:5px solid #d39f9f;text-decoration:none;
}

.acykunena h2 .subject {
     color:#1240AB;font-weight:normal;font-size:14px;margin:0;border-bottom:5px solid #d39f9f;text-decoration:none;
}
And that made it look perfect.

Changing the default front-end language, didn't change anything with regards to the plugin-language.

I've attached the language files from my site below.

The language files worked fine with me, so the problem is elsewhere.
The last thing I can think about is that you use Linux and that the method I call to load the language files is case sensitive.
I did a slight modification to the related code, maybe it will be enough to solve the problem.

Hi,

I have been playing with this plugin today to provide an automated digest to people of new or updated posts on the Forum for one of my sites. For the most part it works fine however I have a couple of issues I think need to be resolved.

I copied the link from the post at the top of this page last week so i assume I am using the most current version.

Initial posts in Messages.
I am setting the Tag to select Messages changed in the last 168 hours, however for the purpose of this problem the hours is irrelevant, to show all messages that are new or have been updated.

What I am seeing is the Original Post, or what maybe be considered the Topic, for each thread where there has been an updated or new posts added in the time period. To explain it another way the for each thread where there has been a new or updated post the first post in the thread is also displayed even though it has not changed in the period specified.

Not sure if it is a fault or a feature but it would be nice to be able to just have the posts that are new or changed in within the period.

Total Message not working.
If i select 'Total Message' radio button it seems to add the parm PCOUNT to the tag but doesn't show the the whole text, just a few lines of it. Maybe I am reading this wrong but I would expect to see the whole post in the newsletter if I check the button.

Displayed Text.

The documentation refers to Parameters to

Maximum length of a subject : Number of characters beyond which the subject will be cut
Maximum length of a message : Number of characters beyon which the message will be cut

However there is no link or further information on how to change the limits mentioned.

(ps. The spelling typo in the word 'Beyon' appears on the documentation page)

Otherwise I am quite liking the Kunena plugin.

Regards,
Terry

Hello Terry,

About the params, I added two screenshots on our doc so you can see where to access it:
www.acyba.com/en/support/documentation/2...n-kunena.html#params

Leiko will answer your other questions tomorrow but the "Total message" option is there to display the number of messages attached to the thread. It does not mean the whole message will be inserted in the Newsletter.

Thanks for the typo, I just fixed it.
Please have a look at our official documentation before posting a new message!

Could the Kunena plugin be set to ignore access rights?
I have forums that requrie certain ACL levels, and the newsletters created a made only for people that have that access.

Thank you. The params make a lot more sense now I know where to find them. :) And now that you have explained the Total Messages I do recall reading that last week when I first played with the Plug in. Thanks.

Hello,

@Moke: I fixed the topic's case. Now, the initial message will be the first created post in the time interval requested.

@fribse: A new parameter allows you to ignore ACL.
More precisely, it defines the access rights to those of the newsletter's creator.

You will find the latest version of the plugin in Acymailing plugins repository.
