Hi

Have any of you done this? I have got it working, but it displays horribly. Looks like CSS needs to be edited, but I'm not great at this.

See screenshot of latest kunena post in a newsletter.

AcyMailing will indeed insert the html but won't load the CSS from your site so you should add some CSS to the Newsletter-template attached to your e-mail.

This CSS should help:
ul li{
border:1px solid #ccc;
list-style-type: none;
margin:0px;
padding:4px;
}

ul li ul li{
border:none;
margin:0px;
list-style-type: none;
padding:0px;
}

PS: I didn't test it, I'm just guessing based on your screenshot.

Hi John

Thanks for that!

I tried it,

I set up my auto newsletter as such:

<style type="text/css">
ul li{
border:1px solid #ccc;
list-style-type: none;
margin:0px;
padding:4px;
}

ul li ul li{
border:none;
margin:0px;
list-style-type: none;
padding:0px;
}
</style>

<p>{module:287}</p>

It looks fine when I preview the newsletter (besides the avatar which needs to be positioned to the left). But when I test it in Outlook it doesn't look anything like the preview. Would really appreciate feedback on this, although I presume it is beyond the scope of official support.

About the CSS, I was suggesting to add it to your Newsletter-template (which may be attached to your Smart-Newsletter) so the code gets converted into inline-css automatically.
www.acyba.com/en/support/documentation/1...tml#globalstylesheet

Nevertheless I'm afraid it won't change much things as apparently Outlook does not enable you to remove the bullets :(
I tried to google it a little bit but couldn't find a solution

thanks for looking into it... I tried to change the output of the module (with my limited knowledge)... Managed to remove one of the bullets, which makes it look a little better.

Really need to find a way to make this work, as this is the most important aspect of my automated newsletter... will keep trying!

I have been looking for a Kunena plugin, so that I can create an Auto-newsletter once a week if there has been activity in the forum.

The Smart-Newsletter could also be based on RSS feed of Kunena, but I didn't find a plugin for rss either.

Did you find a solution for Kunena?

I ended up using the kunena latest module, inserted in an auto newsletter with some css edits...

But can you use it for Smart-Newsletters, or do you then send out the newsletters manually?

I will attach the CSS i used. It's not perfect, but took quite a while to get right!

insert module into your auto newsletter

I have a similar problem as above. I want to create a monthly auto newsletter and have purchased the enterprise edition ( now thinking I should not have as without the Kunena posts this is redundant) to enable this. Primary for the newsletter is the topics created in certain forums over the last month along with the opening text.

The problem is, like many hosting companies, mine has closed down the possibility of creating loopbacks. So whilst I can use the Kunena latest and import the mod to a newsletter is does not show the topic text (vers 1.6.4), not a problem I will switch on the RSS feed and use this, nope this does not work as this is creating a loopback. So I exported my RSS to yahoo pipes and tried to import, does not work.

The only hope of using this superb software is either a Kunena Plugin or a good idea from an expert.

Any help will be appreciated.

P.S If I have hijacked this thread I apologise and please move but this seemed a relevant place.

Regards to you all B)

Hi,

There are two methods to include a module in a Newsletter, did you test both?
www.acyba.com/en/support/documentation/1...agmodule.html#params

That was the good idea from the expert... ;)

If it does not work, then you don't give us any other choice than creating a dedicated Kunena plugin!

Hi John

First of all may I say this has got to be the quickest response I have seen on a forum - superb! :woohoo:

Back to business, I have tried both file_get_content and cURL and this is what led me to question my host and they advised of the loopback scenario.

I have tried mod_feed to pull in my own RSS and then to pull from Yahoo Pipes, pipes was hit or miss and is reliant on their server load, this would not help during an auto newsletter build and to use my own RSS address in mod_feed was a loopback.

The only success is to use the Kunena_Latest module but this does not show the topics 1st text. To put this in perspective we are an outdoors club and we use the forum for trip reports ( we have three categories for trip reports). In the newsletter we want to place the topic title and the opening report (all the reports for the month, probably 20 but I guess other users would use this and have far more). This can be seen in the RSS feed www.yssuk.com/forum/rss?format=feed

I did look at 'adapting' another addon but do not have php skills to do this, :blush: also the only solution i could think of without causing loopback is a specific extension that will query the database and therefore not cause a loopback.

Kind Regards

Hello,

I just contacted one of our developer who started this integration (but then we had other priorities and dropped it...).
Anyway, we will move forward with this integration.

Good to hear that. Although it works for me using the insert module method - alot of css styling was required though.

This is superb news and I'm so pleased as, for me, this is crucial to our use of the Acymailing.

With fear of starting a huge wishlist topic, there are a couple of things in Kunena that I'm looking for;

The ability to select only certain categories or subcategories for inclusion and the ability to place a timescale i.e. only topics and their original text (not replies) for the last month. Again similar to the link above to the rss.

Again many thaanks to your positive approach and fast response.

Hi,

Yesterday I would have reply "maximum one month".
But we just had a very bad news from the JED and I'm afraid this plugin will be developed after everything is solved with the JED.

Hi John

I see the JED has been sorted at least visibly. Does this mean the Kunena Forum Plugin is back on radar?

Regards

Andy
