Description

This screen enables you to create or edit an Automatic Newsletter.
An automatic Newsletter is a Newsletter generated at a fixed frequency including Joomla articles.
Based on the tags you will include in your automatic Newsletter, AcyMailing will be able to populate all your newly created Joomla articles, newly modified Joomla articles, always the latest 5 articles (or 10 or...) from one category, one section, several categories or several sections.
Based also on your tags, AcyMailing won't generate the Newsletter if a minimum of Y articles are not found.

You can configure your automatic Newsletter in test mode so the Newsletter will be generated but not sent to your users in order for you to check it.

Each Auto-Newsletter should be attached to one or several published Mailing Lists in order to be sent.

The Auto-Newsletter configuration shares a lot of parameters with the Newsletter creation. So you may want to check the Newsletter creation documentation.

Toolbar

• Template : This button is only visible when you create a new Auto-Newsletter. If you click on this button, a popup will open and you will be able to choose an other template.
• Tags : If you click on this button, a popup will open and you will be able to choose tags and insert them in your Auto-Newsletter.
  You can include the name of the user, his e-mail or any other information, a virtuemart product, a Joomla article, an event, an unsubscribe link... AcyMailing uses the Joomla Plugin system so that it's very easy to add more functionalities to your AcyMailing component.
• Preview : Save the current Auto-Newsletter and display the preview screen where you will be able to preview, and test your Auto-Newsletter.
• Save : Save the current Auto-Newsletter and return to the Auto-Newsletter Management screen.
• Apply : Apply the modifications to the current Auto-Newsletter and stay on the same screen.
• Cancel : Return to the previous screen without saving the modifications.
• Help : This button enables you to turn ON/OFF the help section, this screen will appear or disappear.

Parameters

• Subject : Subject of the Automatic Newsletter, which will also be the subject of each generated Newsletter. You can add the tag {issuenb} which will be replaced by the current Issue Number.
• Alias : Alias of the Generated Newsletter used for SEF links.
• Published : A non published Newsletter won't be generated.
• Send HTML Version : Choose if you want to send the text only version of the Newsletter or the HTML Version too.
• Next Generate Date : Indicates the next time the Newsletter should be generated. The automatic Newsletter needs a cron task to work properly so please make sure you configured a cron task on the AcyMailing Configuration page.
• Generate Frequency : Specify the frequency at which your Newsletter should be generated.
• Issue Number : This is an automatic number indicating the next issue number of the Newsletter. This number will be incremented each time AcyMailing generates a Newsletter from this automatic Newsletter. You can include the tag {issuenb} in the subject, the html version or the text version, and it will be replaced when AcyMailing generates the Newsletter.
• Last Run time: This field indicates the last time the Newsletter has been generated so if you add new articles in your auto-newsletter, they will be added if they have been created after this date.
• Generating Mode :
  • Wait for the confirmation before sending : In that case, AcyMailing will generate the Newsletter and send a notification. You will have to manually send or schedule the generated Newsletter in order to send it. This option is very useful in test mode.
  • Send the generated Newsletter : AcyMailing will generate and send the Newsletter automatically.
• Send notification to : Please specify the e-mail address where you want to receive the notification of the Newsletter creation.
