My subscription module is displayed inside a modal box (or lightbox or anything you want).
To be thorough, it is displayed inside an article which is displayed in a modal box.

It's a nice effect indeed, except that I can't get any messages displayed by <jdoc:include type="message" />.

I understand I got myself into this tricky situation, I just wanted to know if you knew a workaround for this issue.

What's your website url so we can see exactly what you mean and the way it works?
Isn't it just about adding the <jdoc:include type="message" /> tag inside your component.php file in your template? (please make sure it's there as your modal box plugin probably uses this file to display your content inside the modal)

As the website is for a well known brand I can't give the URL for now.

Let me explain better :

I have created an article containing the Acymailing subscription module, thanks to Module Anywhere.

I call this article within a menu item link, using the <?php JHTML::_('behavior.modal'); ?> call so that I don't have to install any modal plugin.

The URL is something like this :

So that only the article is displayed in the modal.

The <jdoc:include type="message" /> is indeed included in my template.

Everything works fine when I don't use the modal : the article is call in a normal way and the confirmation message is displayed.

When I use the modal, the module appears in the box as expected, the process goes fine, and after submitting the modal disappears (as expected) and I'm redirected to the previous page (the page behind the modal). But the message is not displayed.

I understand it is a normal behavior, but is there a way to modify it ?

Tell me if you need more information.

The popup closes because of AcyMailing.
It closes it because it considers it's our own popup effect.
Please edit the file components/com_acymailing/js/acymailing_module.js and remove the code :

Which is at the end of the file.

So now the popup should not be closed automatically and if the <jdoc:include type="message" /> is indeed included in your component.php file of your Joomla template (I'm not talking about the index.php file of your Joomla template!) then it should work as expected.

The message should be displayed on the redirection page.
What's your redirection url?

If you tell me it's a Joomla url with tmpl=component, I will have to tell you again that you should make sure <jdoc:include type="message" /> is included in your component.php file in your template folder and if you don't have a component.php, that would explain why the message is not displayed.
If it's an external page (out of Joomla) then no, you won't be able to display the message on it.

It is working nice right now : the message is displayed inside the modal as expected (I have a componenet.php file).

What I wanted is basically the modal to be closed after submitting and the message appearing back on the site.

Please go on the AcyMailing module configuration and change the effect...
