My client is a school district, and each building principal, has a list to which they can send mailings. When they create a new mailing, the system uses the default sender information from the Configuration area. I realize the principals could change this information each time. However, would it be possible to have this sender information populate based on the owner's name and email address? Or, alternatively, could each list be configured with different default sender information?

Hi,

This is not currently possible with acymailing. However, if you have enough programming skills you can customize the view handling those informations so that it sets the current user name and email instead of using the default one from the configuration. The code which needs to be changed is near the end of the file administrator/components/com_acymailing/views/newsletter/tmpl/param.form.php
If your users use it from the back end, you can copy the file to your back end template and modify the copy. If it's from the front end you will have to modify the file directly.

No, we don't want to do that as the same e-mail can be sent to several lists so it would be complicated to handle that part.

Indeed, it sounds like a good option for the front-end interface.

You should modify the file "components/com_acymailing/views/newsletter/view.html.php"
Around line 30 you should find what you are looking for:

$mail->fromname = $config->get('from_name');
$mail->fromemail = $config->get('from_email');
$mail->replyname = $config->get('reply_name');
$mail->replyemail = $config->get('reply_email');

We planned to release a new version including the possibility to add extra fields (that will be the main improvement) and I will make sure to include this new option in our configuration page for this release too. We initially said end of February, that will be probably more first week of March but basically in one or two weeks.
