DKIM preferences don't seem to work 2 years 2 months ago #39467

I'm hopeless, I don't manage to activate DKIM properly although I've followed your instructions!
I just get a SPAM index of 4.4 out of 10!

Here is the result

[SPF] phamosa.de does not allow your server 194.187.186.150 to use This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email validation system designed to prevent email spam by detecting email spoofing, a common vulnerability, by verifying sender IP addresses.
You do not have a SPF record, please add the following one to your domain phamosa.de:
"v=spf1 a mx ptr ip4:194.187.186.150 ~all"

[Sender ID] phamosa.info does not allow your server 194.187.186.150 to use This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Sender ID (SPF 2.0) is heavily based on SPF, with only a few additions. It tries to improve on a principal deficiency in SPF: that SPF does not verify the header addresses that indicates the sending party.

Your DomainKeys signature is not valid
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a method for associating a domain name to an email message, thereby allowing a person, role, or organization to claim some responsibility for the message.
You use DomainKeys, a deprecated authentication protocol. You should switch to DKIM.
The DKIM signature of your message is:

The message hash ("b=" field) length (512 bits) does not match the length (1024 bits) of the signing algorithm (rsa-sha1 / "a=" field).

Any idea what's wrong?

Thank you so much!

Hello,

When I check your DNS record and enter the selector "acy" and the domain name "phamosa.de" then I can see you don't have an DNS record...
www.acyba.com/en/support/documentation/1...g-dkim.html#checkdns

Please make sure you inserted your public key on your DNS.

What's your permalink for this spam test by the way?
So we can improve the error message...

Sorry to wade into this, but I have the same issue as above. When I do the "Spam test" on the top right of my newsletter, it's warning me with:

The message hash ("b=" field) is too short (512 bits). It must me of at least 1024 bits.
The message hash ("b=" field) length (512 bits) does not match the length (1024 bits) of the signing algorithm (rsa-sha1 / "a=" field).

I go to dkimcore.org/c/keycheck to test it and it fails:

This is not a good DKIM key record. You should fix the errors shown in red.

There is a parsing error at character 1 ('"')

A public-key (p=) is required

If I remove the quotes: it states "This is a valid DKIM key record".

The quotes are not in my zone file entry.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You should indeed remove the extra quotes from your DNS entry.
Except that it seems to be a valid public key so if you entered the right private one on Acy then it will do the job.

Please don't forget to do a NEW test otherwise our test system will display the result of the old Newsletter.

Yes, it for some reason cached, I thought there was a thing between 512 and 1024 bit encryption.

All working ok now.

Hi Adrien,

I now changed some preferences in my PLESK and the dkimcore.org/c/keycheck check is ok!
"This is a valid DKIM key record"

But when I do the SPAM test again, I get an error message as before that the public key cannot be retrieved:

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a method for associating a domain name to an email message, thereby allowing a person, role, or organization to claim some responsibility for the message.

Please help me out, I don't know what to do anymore..

Hello,

I just checked it on dkimcore with the selector "acy" and the domain name "phamosa.de" but it does not appear to be valid...

You are right! I just checked the DKIM Core Key Record!

Here is a screen shot of the DNS entry that I made in my PLESK, maybe you can see the mistake?

Have you checked?

I added the code v=DKIM1;k=rsa.... to the DNS Zone of phamosa.de but it still does not work and give the error message.

What else can I try? How is it possible that the DNS entry cannot be found?

Hi,

I don't see anything wrong in your entry.
Maybe the DNS has not been propagated yet? (there is sometimes a delay to see the modifications applied)

I've tried now again, it just does not work.. Do you have an idea what I could change in the preferences? I've even generated new keys and tried them but with the same result.

thank you!

Hello,

The issue for now is that your keys is not applied to your DNS.
It's not related to AcyMailing at all for now and we should first make sure your DNS record is inserted and propagated properly which does not seem to be the case.

I didn't see anything wrong in your entry and for me it's a valid one on your DNS... you may want to contact your hosting company to tell them that your entry is apparently not applied as it should, they may have a solution...

Or maybe you're not editing the right DNS area?
It can happen if you have a different registrar and hosting company.

Re: DKIM preferences don't seem to work 2 years 2 months ago #39756

we changed some settings and now I get this message when I do the spamtest:

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is a method for associating a domain name to an email message, thereby allowing a person, role, or organization to claim some responsibility for the message.

The DKIM signature of your message is:

v=1;
a=rsa-sha1;
q=dns/txt;
l=16913;
s=acy;
t=1347539915;
c=relaxed/simple;
h=from:to:subject;
d=phamosa.info;
bh=8pGLGaWWrreB6oLRJ0lrt3qaaEA=;
b=VgCgNKfFimov9fyb9HBiBHfnreTuf7NRGmtCQwmFNiuUXpnKMd7EAFZIe+0zwGtvUv5n0LMnaS1fsw2kRIrLhA==

Your public key is:

"v=DKIM1\;
k=rsa\;
g=*\;
s=email\;
h=sha1\;
t=s\;
p=MFwwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEBBQADSwAwSAJBAKInRdJ2Uw/vLqkIsnPRMG9MK/HDWCkHsZKbNUMfNbifazAL9MmvSWh//pS0FG+CFbQ07okk0MhGPF42rOKdPy8CAwEAAQ=="

Your DKIM signature is not valid

What does it mean? Why is it not valid when I copied it directly from your generator on the Acy site:
www.acyba.com/en/support/documentation/1...om_content#dkiminfos

Thank you!

Hi,

Great, so you finally managed to insert your DKIM record? What was the issue by the way?

What's your test link so I can have a look at it?

Great :)

I'm still curious to know why the DKIM Record was not working previously, can you tell me what modification did you apply to make it working?

Re: DKIM preferences don't seem to work 2 years 2 months ago #39792

Hi Adrien,
I don't really know, maybe I didn't copy the code correctly from the key generator or the generated codes were wrong.
When I generated new ones and inserted the new public key directly into the major hosting backend (not my plesk account), it worked straight away..
Good luck for all the others, I lost many hours of research here..
Thanks Adrian!
