I am testing 2 newsletter components, Acajoom and AcyMailing. When I send out the test newsletters using the same template, the Acymailing gets marked as spam by my personal email account and my Yahoo email. The Acajoom gets through fine to my personal email account but is marked by Yahoo. I changed the stats image to my logo, I then disabled it as outlined in the help, still no change.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Please send a test Newsletter to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and you will get an auto-reply to determine why your Newsletter has been flagged as spam.

Please also make sure you use the encoding format 8bit and not base64.

The interesting info in the report email is the spamAssassin detailed check.
The ratio HTML tags VS content could be the cause of your emails going to the spam folder. In the detailed report you got you should get a score on the BAYES. For example:

If you have too much html tags compared to the text content of your newsletter, the spam score of your newsletter will increase. Acajoom's default template contains a lot less HTML tags than acymailing's default templates. You can try to reduce the amount of HTML in you newsletter in order to improve this score avoid avoid the spam folder for your newsletter.

I sent just plain text and it is still marked as spam. With Acajoom, it is gets through. I noticed in the headers that (EHLO localhost.localdomain)and IP 127.0.0.1 is listed. Is this an issue? An other ideas?

If you send your acajoom newsletter to this spam analysis email, do you get the same report ?
Do you send your newsletter on both components with the same mail settings ?
If yes, then we might need to look at the headers for both emails... that's the only thing left which could be different...

You should really have a look at your template and try to reduce the quantity of HTML tags compared to the real text.
It's usually very simple modifications which have an amazing impact on the spam result.

I had the same problem just new to this newsletter and I didn't have anything in the Hostname in the Configuration. I scored similar to you. I then put my server name in there and tried it again, and my spam probablility droped down
